These are some of our favorite images of our work, created or acquired in 2010. There are a few TV set designs pictures in our shop or in studio, some silly pictures, a telex machine before and after, some desks, shows, displays, trade show exhibits, and a website that we launched recently. TV Set Designs Website

Over the years, we have seen a shift in how people use funding to present their company to the public eye. Years ago, almost all of the custom business coming to us was for trade show booths and exhibits. Now, as the internet and self-syndication mature, we see custom broadcast studio set work more often than anything else.

The initial call we get from prospective clients is always a bit confused as there is no single resource describing the process for new studio owners. With the tvsetdesigns website we set out to focus on broadcast set design from start to finish, along with tutorials, pricing, links to resources, and more. This way, even the most novice broadcast company would have all of their answers without even picking up the phone.

Stage Set Backdrop - Columbia Wealth Management

Last week we sent out a massive set for a stage presentation by Columbia Wealth Management. The main back wall is 16′ tall by 30′ wide, with scattered translucents in the field of color. Two foreground walls standing 10′ tall and about 8′ wide sported the company’s logos.

This set is going to be set up in Boston. We will be sending one person to make sure the stage hands don’t get it wrong, just to be on the safe side. As you can see by the images, setting this up will just be bolting a few frames together.

Kathy is working diligently on the props for Billy Graham museum’s old roll-top desk area.
She has had very little luck finding the 1954 Telex machine the museum designers want.

Miles away, Mr. Flowe is preparing to move. He has had his Telex machine stored in his garage for 50 years.
He did not want to part with it ,but because of the move he had no choice; he had to find the telex machine a new home.
He even had all it’s original paperwork, parts, and replacement parts.
One fateful morning, he says a prayer–
“God, what will I do with my Telex machine?”

That same day, Mr. Flowe went to morning coffee with his friend Mr. Claudel.
Interestingly, Mr. Flowes’ friend relays to him this message–
“A girl from the Billy Graham Library is looking for an old Telex machine.”

Mr. Flowe returns home and (lips quivering) says to his wife–
“Billy Graham wants my Telex machine!!!”

When ken Gelbach and Kathy Karmondy arrived, mr. Flowe told Kathy–
“I gotta tell you, you’re an answer to a prayer.”

We have obtained the Telex machine.

However, for the museum it must look brand new, as the scene in the museum is depicting 1958.
After approval from Eric Gordon of ITEC, our Ricky McWaters reburbished the machine inside and out.
