Where can I buy a news desk?

Purchase a news desk for your broadcast studio

Purchase a news desk for your broadcast studio

If you’re trying to find where studios buy news desks, you’re in the right place! The desks or desks can be your design or ours, and can be fabricated with a surprisingly quick turnaround. For an example, the desk picture at the top of this post is one that we constructed based on a hand drawn sketch by the creative services department of ON24′s studio. You’ll be able to see some before and after plans in the images at the bottom of this post.

Another desk in the images below is ‘Emily’s Desk’. This 3d construction was based off of a 2d top view sent by our client, WGBH in Boston. The intent of the small desk is just as a laptop table for the side of the chair of the main talent in the program. Attractive and unobtrusive, Emily’s desk accomplishes all of WGBH’s goals for the program.

If you do not have a creative services department, and you don’t really have an idea of what you want in a broadcast news desk, don’t worry. We have many desk designs that have proven to be very popular, and we are open to creating more, totally unique designs, to fit our client’s needs. If you would like to see some of our default designs with prices, which we can change to fit any need, check out our sister site: http://tvsetdesigns.com.

Digital TV Broadcast Set Design

Digital TV Broadcast Set Design - Bank of America

Digital TV Broadcast Set Design - Bank of America

A quick broadcast set design created under direction of the Bank of America’s Knowledge Channel. This one was recently sent to and set up in their studio in Boston, MA. This is for an inter-corporation digital TV broadcast for current events and company information. My favorite part about this one in particular is the blur the backdrop attains the further it is from the translucent surfaces. A great way to get depth in a small broadcast space.

Trade Show Display – Hurst Jaws of Life

Custom Trade Show Display for Hurst's 'Jaws of Life' product

This decidedly fun image is meant to simulate post-earthquake conditions in order to show off Hurst’s ‘Jaws of Life’ product’s life saving ability. This custom trade show display has a small footprint, but an epic visual impact rating.

If you were walking through a trade show’s usual forest of roll-up and pop-up displays, I am confident that this one would stand out incredibly, even though it only takes up a 10′ booth space at most (if you really scatter the rocks).
The display was made of materials light enough so that shipping costs don’t become prohibitive, with everything fitting in one light crate.
The majority of the work on this trade show display was done by our own Boyce McKinney. If you’re curious about what kind of designer it takes to do such a great job on a crumbling concrete wall , check out his girlfriend.

Large Graphics Printing and Installation

Large graphics printing and installation at the Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, NC

Large graphics printing and installation at the Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, NC

Last week we completed printing and installation of a huge set of graphics to complete a large display at the Bank of America (Panther’s) Stadium in Charlotte, NC. I’ve got a fun before and after image for you to flip back and forth on (I know you will). These large graphic displays are installations allowed to the marketing departments of companies (e.g. Coors Light) for a low to no cost in order to have the previously grungy smoking areas re-branded in an attractive fashion as a hang out with drinks and screens.

The floors and columns are covered in rough wrap vinyl, which conforms to every crevice and line of the swept concrete and cracked columns. With the conformable gloss laminate on the print, and the roughness of the surfaces it was applied to, these graphics really sparkle.

The before and after images were 2 days into install. The other two images show further refinement, as they were taken at completion.

If you click on one of the smaller images below, you can then use your left and right arrow keys to do the back-and-forth of the images.

This is a quick stage set design put together by Gelbach Designs under the Bank of America Knowledge Channel’s Michael Petrosino (They call him ‘Petro’. How’s that for a manly nickname). Under Petro’s design, we provided simple frames, graphics for the frames, and a custom inlaid carpet with the Bank of America logo.
