1 February, 2011 (13:07) | Current Events, Design Tools, Gallery | By: rackley

We do many things here at Gelbach Designs. One of which is graphic design. We have created designs for what sometimes seems like every major company in the US, and a good few abroad. I was recently digging through our server to find a few examples to share. This is by no means a comprehensive list, just images of the first few I ran into:

We recently have completed a set of props for the popular children’s broadcast and performance called ‘Raggs’, which features 5 colorful dogs and a cat named dumpster. The pieces we recreated were 2 guitars, two turntables with stand, and a keyboard stand. If you would like to know more about the broadcast, take a look at the Raggs entry on Wikipedia.

Needless to say, with large cartoonish looking instruments being created, there was tomfoolery. Everyone imitated DJs when near the turntables, and more than one thrashing session was had per person with the guitars. We have photo and video evidence of this, and will display most of it along with this post. The remainder of photo and video captures will be kept under wraps to use as blackmail later, as it is more embarrassing. Continue reading for a great video and more silly images…

A pop up display for trade show displays

Recently we featured a tv studio design project for the US Air Force here. During the design phase of that set, the client decided that they would also like to have a traveling, easy to set up, lightweight, and attractive pop up display for trade shows.

This display will enable our client to very quickly and efficiently set up at trade shows that interest the US Air Force, such as job fairs, college recruiting, and the like. The entire set up you see here collapses and fits into the 3 tables you see in front of the exhibit. The tables close, fasten, and have wheels and handles for easy transportation by any conventional means. The units are lightweight enough to ship without prohibitive costs, giving this display a serious advantage over it’s heavier competition.

New Studio and Set Design - Modesto Jaguars

Recently we have had a couple new news sets go out. The image you see first is a great studio set design for the Modesto Jaguars. This school broadcast set was made to fit for several segments, depending on mostly translucents, as they can be changed with light or materials behind the set per broadcast. The design is based off of our strong style of set, which has made many schools and other government institutions happy due to it’s style and affordability.

Next image is a set design we have recently completed for Rowdy.com. This was a fun little set for a relaxed racing related broadcast. One of my favorite parts of this set is the use of the translucent surfaces to give depth to such a small area. This was achieved by placing one of the car-part props behind the PETG surface in the center of the larger wall of the set. The effect is a much greater visual depth than is actually present in the space. After seeing how great this effect can be, we will be recommending such prop and graphic arrangements to any client with a similar set design.
