Dye Sublimation

It doesn't matter if you say dye sublimation or dye sub. Beautiful is beautiful.

It doesn't matter if you say dye sublimation or dye sub. Beautiful is beautiful.

Need gorgeous, durable graphics printed on fabrics? Dye sublimation (commonly called dye sub) is most likely going to be your best bet. Fabrics stay more flexible with less chance of the graphics being damaged when compared to screen printing or solvent printing.

You know those old shirts you had… the ones with the letters cracking and coming off? That was not dye-sub. If they had dye sublimation printing back then, that old shirt would still look good. [edit: it seems they did have dye-sub back then. You should have bought a nicer shirt.]

You can read more about dye sublimation on Wikipedia.

Stage Set Design and Construction

10 September, 2009 (13:40) | Current Events | By: rackley

This is a quick summary about how we work out stage set design and construction.

Stage Set Design and Construction - Renderings

Stage Set Design and Construction - Renderings

First the client calls, emails, or messenger pigeons us. They outline what they’re looking for. We create 3d computer generated renderings for the client(s) to review.

Typically, the client wants to see a few changes made. We then make those changes, render new images, and send along a fresh new PDF with exactly what the client wants. The image to the left of this text is an example of one of the pages in the PDF plans we send to our clients. Click it to view full size.

Before and After • Making Pictures Better With Photoshop • Tutorial

Step 0: This Tutorial

I will start by noting– my use of ‘Better’ in this tutorial’s title is meant to reflect more funmore interestingawesome, or OMG wow. Not necessarily cleaner or more accurate;)

In this simple tutorial I will explain how to go from taking the first picture (left) to creating the final image (right) in Photoshop. For this tutorial i’m using Photoshop CS3 Extended. However, this also applies to many past and future versions of Photoshop. As a disclaimer, this style of editing is not for everyone. However, this will teach you a technique that will be useful  in the future. If you hate it or me, please let me know in the comments section ^_^.

This is a trade show booth  created for CCVB (Visit Charlotte) which has been designed, built, set up, and dismantled in many parts of north america by Gelbach Designs.

Just to name a few places, we’ve set up this trade show booth in New Orleans, Tampa, South Beach, San Deigo, San Hose, Indiana, Minneapolis, Hawaii, Toronto… well, everywhere.

We vary the set as per their desires and trade show regulations for each city. This is the 10′x20′ version. It has been as large as 40′x40′ island.

The compliments we have recieved on this booth are consistently large in number. It has won best-of-show repeatedly.
