Department Signs for Goodwill

Department Signs for Goodwill

Thursday we did another Goodwill signage install, this time in Cornelius.

Installs in this industry (in most industries) are never completed without having a problem or issue. Be it a sign location problem, damage in shipping, a huge column to work around, or anything else… there is always a contingency.

During this install, there were no surprises or problems. We are all still rather slack jawed in amazement about that. It couldn’t have gone better. Under 3 hours – all the busted old signs were removed and the shiny new ones up.

Sign making technique 101

Sign making technique 101

Recently we completed a new sign for the Bird Pediatric Dentistry and Orthodontics, in Ballantyne. The technique we use to create the natural light drop shadow on these signs is not as simple as photoshop, and we think these signs benefit greatly from it.

Here’s what we do: Print the graphic on clear pressure sensitive vinyl. We place this on one side of 1/8″ acrylic, and then put a sand textured matte overlaminate on top of the clear. For the last step, we place white vinyl on the other side of the acrylic.

This creates a look that makes our signs stand out against our competitors.

I should note: the spiders and their webs are Halloween decorations.

Yeah, I rhymed. Today we are shipping out two signs created for the ‘Ruth’s Attic’ section of the Billy Graham Library.

Recreating, printing, and mounting the mouse was done by Buck Rackley, Steelwork and preparation by Greg Weston, and absolutely exquisite CNC routing, woodworking, staining, and finish by Shannon Russell. I wish that these pictures could do more to capture how fantastic these signs look.

We have recently completed a set for a company interested in trade show rentals. Needing six 10′ translucent walls to display new technology in front of, IBM found our website and contacted us.

If you have a need for an impressive trade show rental, but you don’t want the same plastic, cardboard, and truss look that all the others have, do not hesitate to contact us about our trade show rentals.
