TV Set Design - Internal Broadcast

We recently received a call from a financial institution that needed a tv set design for internal broadcast.

We’re used to this. However, this one had a spicy requirement. The set had to be done and installed in 48 hours. After a burst of design renderings, and a flurry of activity in the shop, we accomplished just that.

Keep us in mind when your client or employer hits you with a ridiculous deadline.  The majority of Gelbach Designs’ employees have a background in theater, and the show must go on

Recently we completed setting up and dismantling (known as ‘striking a set’ in the industry) the Bronko Nagurski award dinner. The recipient this year was Ndamukong Suh.

The image I have here is before we struck the set, while people were still standing around it, visiting and taking pictures. It is a combination of 47 exposures using Photoshop’s median stack mode.

Oddly, all the images I’m finding online have some guy holding something in front of the set.

TV set design for a local financial institution in Charlotte NC

This is an image from a TV set design we completed recently. I have already made a post showing the whole set (which is gorgeous, if I may say so myself). You can see that post here.

The reason I’m making this post is to show off the video wall which was lacking in the other images.

The video wall is comprised of nine 42″ LCD screens. This makes for a great faux-window to give an open space impression to an otherwise windowless studio. This company in particular uses videos of Charlotte’s skyline on a beautiful day.

Discovery Place Signage

Another small sign job recently completed for Discovery Place by Gelbach Designs. Discovery Place’s team designed the sign, and Shannon Russell completed fabrication and installation.

Shannon Russell’s dog Juniper was notably impressed when she saw the picture of her masters work.

Brochure Holders at CMC Steel Creek

Yesterday we installed the last of hundreds of brochure racks made custom for CHS. These last 4 were installed in a CMC hospital under construction in the Steele Creek area.

Before you ask, it was for ADA approval that made the height decision on that brochure holder in the background of the first image in this post.
Being near 2 bathrooms, water fountains, vending machines, and a children’s play area, that brochure holder is most likely doomed.

Back in the shop, we are beginning a new batch of the brochure holders. These next 2 images are of the 1/4″ black ABS back, and of the 1/8″ acrylic, still being prepared.
