Menu Signs

Menu Signs

Menu Signs

I’m not sure how much of a market there is for custom menu signs. There must be one. However, I have never seen an ad, story, or commercial related to “we make menu signs”. Nor have I talked to anyone that said “I design menus”, or “We just make a lot of menus, it’s really boring.”

So, I thought it would be a good time to be that guy. We do make menu signs. They aren’t boring. The turnaround is so fast you’d think it was on a unicycle.

The image is of a custom design that we built just a little while ago :)

(Now I’m thinking perhaps nobody ever mentions menu signs is because it isn’t the most thrilling conversational topic.)

Before and After – TV set design and news desks

I’ve posted about this beautiful new TV set design before. However, when I was scanning through old images of mine I found something that made it worth posting again: The before picture.

Normally, when we prepare to design a new set, we will go out to the location and take measurements and photographs. Many times building plans are inaccurate, leaving out important things like that new air ducting the set wouldn’t fit under. Going there in person makes sure these mistakes don’t happen.

Typically, these images are utilitarian, and wouldn’t be deserving of putting anywhere to view.

This one though… wow. What a contrast.

Here are the ‘after’ shots of sets and news desks we designed and built last year.

Custom Display Cases

Custom Display Cases

Who builds custom display cases? We love doing it, so give us a call.

These images are from a recent install at a museum in Charlotte, NC. The custom display cases were designed by ITEC entertainment, and built by Ricky McWaters of Gelbach Designs.

This part of the museum touts a hefty Chinese theme relating to the featured person’s time spent in that area. The display cases reflect that with the perfection of the acrylic cases and precision of the inlaid golden woodworking.

Museum Design and Construction

Museum Design and Construction

This image is of a recent installation we have completed for a local museum in Charlotte. The neon-motorcycle-televisions (a combination sure to win any American’s heart) display was designed by ITEC, and built by Gelbach Designs.

While we are more accustomed to designing museums and building them, our fabrication work for ITEC has been an absolute pleasure. The end result as a whole exceeds most of the museums I have seen, in appearance.

It would have been cooler if one could put a quarter in the motorcycle, and then ride it around the room. ;)

Two Small TV Studio Sets

Yesterday we had two TV set designs leave the shop. We were sad to see them go, but the clients are always happier this way.

The first image is for the broadcast studio of the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff. Everything was designed and fabricated at Gelbach Designs. We love the end result of sticking with the school colors, while giving their studio dimension and life. For a different look, the printed graphics can be removed to let the yellow acrylic show through (like the top of the set).

The second image is the set design created for Checks and Balances’ studio backdrop. This and other elements not in the image will turn a simple webcast into something really professional in appearance. The top and bottom graphic panels can be rearranged, changed out, and left out for different looks.
